Minimal Bling is the first public release of music created using iRedux, an automated system that, by destroying your audio files, creates original ambient music.

iRedux was created by sound artist Oliver Farshi, this mini-album is a collaboration between him and Geraldine Juárez for Kanye Webst Week at F.A.T. Lab.

The iRedux software destroys any music file, strips it of copyright and generates a piece of original ambient music. By sacrificing music that you don’t truly own (perhaps pirated or purchased as a license from a record label), iRedux will create something original that you can legitimately share.

You’re free to enjoy and encouraged to share Minimal Bling.

This week, the iRedux Project will open to the public. Developed by Oliver Farshi, a sound artist based in Helsinki, Finland, iRedux will explore notions of ownership and intangible property.

The iRedux software destroys any music file, strips it of copyright and generates a piece of original ambient music. With the previous copyright wiped, the new file is free for you to share.

The first iRedux release will be a mini-album generated by iRedux, created in collaboration with Geraldine Juárez of F.A.T. Labs.
